About the Role

Penrith Panthers, Melbourne Storm, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, ACT Brumbies and Adelaide Crows are among the elite sporting organisations partnered with O’Neills Sportswear - a global leader in teamwear apparel with more than 100 years of heritage and a rapidly growing presence within the Australian market.

As we continue to expand nationally, we are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Teamwear - Australia to lead and grow our grassroots teamwear division nationally. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving sales performance, managing key strategic relationships, and leading a high-performing team of Business Development Executives across Australia.

The successful candidate will combine strong leadership capability with a hands-on sales mindset, bringing energy, structure and strategic direction to a fast-paced sporting apparel environment.

This is a pivotal role focused on expanding market share, strengthening customer partnerships, and delivering sustainable revenue growth across grassroots sporting clubs, schools and associations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership

  • Drive revenue growth across all grassroots sporting categories and regions
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships and market expansion initiatives
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer insights to inform strategy
  • Deliver against annual sales budgets, margin targets and KPI objectives

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, mentor and develop a national team of Business Development Executives
  • Create a high-performance sales culture built around accountability, collaboration and customer service
  • Conduct regular sales reviews, pipeline meetings and performance evaluations
  • Support the team in major presentations, negotiations and strategic account management
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training of sales personnel

Key Account & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major grassroots sporting organisations, clubs, schools and associations
  • Manage strategic national accounts and high-value commercial opportunities
  • Represent the business at industry events, sporting functions and stakeholder meetings
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments including operations, customer service, marketing and product teams

Operational & Commercial Oversight

  • Forecast sales performance and manage reporting requirements
  • Ensure CRM systems, sales processes and reporting standards are maintained
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to support customer delivery outcomes

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, ideally within sports apparel, teamwear, uniforms or related industries
  • Strong understanding of the Australian grassroots sporting landscape
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing sales teams
  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement capability
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution
  • High level communication, presentation and organisational skills
  • Experience working with CRM systems and sales reporting tools
  • Ability to travel nationally as required
