Rowing Victoria is the peak sport organisation for rowing in Victoria. The RV Board comprises 6 elected members plus 2 appointed independent Directors.
The Board is looking to fill two Appointed Director positions for a 12 month term (renewable). The Board meets monthly at our Albert Park office (or can join online).
This is a unique opportunity to share your strategic ideas and experiences with a membership-based State Sporting Organisation at the launch of a new Strategic Plan to 2032+.
We are seeking individuals who bring strategic thinking, governance expertise, and leadership experience, ideally at board or senior executive levels. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Governance & Strategy - Board governance, strategic planning, policy, compliance, leadership
- Finance & Risk - Financial literacy, budgeting, audit, risk oversight, investment
- Commercial & Revenue - Business development, sponsorship, grants, marketing
- Legal & Integrity - safeguarding, integrity, insurance, legislation, contracts
- People & Culture - HR, CEO performance, succession planning, culture
- Government & Advocacy - Government relations, funding, waterway/infrastructure advocacy, ambassador for the sport
- Sport Management - community sport governance, participation, event/competition management, performance & pathways
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion - gender balance, sport accessibility
We encourage applications from individuals both within and outside the sporting sector, including business, not-for-profit, education, and government sectors. Experience working on a Board is not essential.
