Description

The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are one of Australia’s most iconic sporting organisations, proudly representing the Northern Beaches since 1947.

Following several seasons of significant growth and continued innovation across our consumer business, the Club is investing in the next phase of its growth strategy.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Head of Marketing & Consumer Growth to lead the continued evolution of our consumer business, championing data and insights, growing revenue, improving customer and fan experiences and building stronger connection with our Members and supporters.

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this role will oversee the Club’s consumer growth strategy across Marketing, Membership, Ticketing, Merchandise, and Fan Experience, while leading the development of our business systems, customer data, insights and marketing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build the Club’s customer data and insights capability to improve our understanding of Member and Supporter behaviour and lifetime customer value.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing development of customer data infrastructure, CRM, marketing automation and related technology solutions.
  • Use customer insights, automation, segmentation, AI and emerging technologies to improve first-party data capture, personalisation and marketing effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fan experience and deepen engagement throughout the supporter journey.
  • Develop and execute the Club’s long-term Marketing and Consumer Growth Strategy aligned to the broader Club Strategic Plan.
  • Lead the consumer product portfolio across Membership, Ticketing, Merchandise and Fan Experience.
  • Work across relevant brand, digital, content and communication platforms to ensure digital marketing activity is meticulously planned to optimise commercial performance.
  • Establish meaningful reporting, dashboards and performance measures across consumer products, campaigns and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage consumer budgets, evaluate investment opportunities and maximise return on marketing and consumer expenditure.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships with the NRL, technology providers, ticketing partners, agencies, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead, develop and support a high-performing consumer team with a strong culture of innovation, customer service, insights and data-driven decision making.

About You

You are an experienced consumer, marketing or commercial leader with a strong track record of delivering measurable customer and revenue growth.

You combine a deep understanding of customer behaviour with the ability to translate data and insights into better products and improved customer experiences.

You will ideally bring experience across several of the following areas:

  • Consumer growth, marketing or commercial strategy
  • Membership, subscriptions, ticketing, loyalty or other customer-led businesses
  • CRM, customer data and marketing automation
  • Customer acquisition, retention and lifecycle marketing
  • Product, pricing and revenue optimisation
  • Digital and performance marketing
  • Customer insights and analytics
  • Fan or customer experience
  • Leadership of multidisciplinary teams and external partners

Experience within sport, entertainment, events or another high-engagement consumer environment would be highly regarded but is not essential.

This is an opportunity to play a leading role in the next phase of growth for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, combining one of Australian sport’s most passionate supporter bases with a more sophisticated, data-led approach to consumer growth.
