As a key member of the Peninsula Leisure leadership team, the Golf Operations Manager - Centenary Park Golf Course will oversee the overall performance, culture and daily operations of the venue. This includes leading all staff across the facility, with direct responsibility for the Golf Operations Coordinator.
The role is central to delivering safe, customer-first and financially sustainable operations, while working collaboratively with Council, PGA professionals, schools, community groups and key stakeholders. You will champion exceptional customer service, inclusive participation and high-quality golf experiences for players of all ages and abilities.
You will also play a pivotal role in strategic planning, masterplan delivery and continuous improvement - ensuring Centenary Park Golf Course continues to evolve as a vibrant, full-service community asset. The Golf Operations Manager leads day-to-day issue resolution while driving both operational excellence and long-term strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Venue Operations
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the golf course, ensuring a safe, welcoming and high-quality experience.
- Set the tone for a positive, values-driven culture across the team.
- Resolve operational issues promptly and maintain smooth venue operations.
Stakeholder & Relationship Engagement
- Act as the main point of contact for Council, clubs, contractors and community groups.
- Build strong relationships with PGA professionals, partners and local organisations.
- Represent Peninsula Leisure at meetings and community forums.
Strategy & Masterplan Delivery
- Drive strategic planning, business development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the planning and rollout of masterplan and redevelopment projects.
- Provide operational insight into design, staging and transition planning
Financial & Commercial Performance
- Develop and manage annual budgets and monitor financial performance.
- Track KPIs, identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare reports for Peninsula Leisure Committees, the Board and Council.
- Identify growth opportunities to strengthen financial sustainability.
People Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach and develop the Golf Operations Coordinator and broader team.
- Oversee workforce planning, performance management and staff development.
- Build capability, support succession planning and foster a high-performing culture.
Golf Programs & Participation Growth
- Support initiatives that grow participation across juniors, beginners, women and social golfers.
- Oversee programs, clinics, school groups and community participation activities.
- Manage scheduling and logistics for group bookings and events.
Professional Services & PGA Collaboration
- Work closely with PGA professionals to align services with venue goals.
- Coordinate fittings, tuition and professional services.
- Support basic workshop services such as re-gripping and re-shafting.
Asset, Maintenance & Risk Management
- Oversee course maintenance standards and contractor performance.
- Ensure strong compliance with safety, risk and operational requirements.
- Lead incident management, risk mitigation and continuous safety improvement.
Health, Safety & Child Safe Compliance
- Ensure all operations meet legislative, Council and Peninsula Leisure requirements.
- Maintain robust risk assessments, SOPs and emergency management processes.
- Promote a strong reporting culture for incidents, hazards and near-misses.
- Embed Child Safe Standards across all programs and staffing practices.
Employment is subject to a satisfactory National Police check and a current employee Working with Children check. The successful applicant will also require current CPR certification (or be willing to obtain).
