Are you seeking flexible but engaging work? We are looking for a new general manager to join our peak sporting body. As the General Manager you will play a key operational role within Baseball Northern Territory, leading important initiatives for the advancement of Baseball.
Baseball Northern Territory Incorporated (BNTI) is the peak sporting body for Baseball within the Northern Territory. Operating as an affiliate of Baseball Australia (BA), BNTI is an Incorporated Society and therefore a stand-alone organisation governed by a Board of Directors and overseeing the operations of Baseball throughout the NT.
About your new role
The General Manager will play a crucial operational role within Baseball Northern Territory, leading key initiatives to advance Baseball. This role includes overseeing the Development Officer, managing key stakeholder engagement and providing strategic commercial insights.
- Growing participation and membership across the Northern Territory including players, coaches, umpires and other volunteers
- Fostering the financial growth of the organisation by maximising sponsorship, grant and commercial opportunity to diversify revenue, sources and ensure financial stability.
- Oversight of day-to-day business operations including Finance, Administration and IT and act as secretariat to the board
- Overall budget management, legal and statutory compliance requirements including risk management.
- Supervising, supporting and managing staff and volunteers including recruitment
- Working with the Board and Associations to develop strategies, policies and practices and deliver against short and long-term outcomes as determined in approved plans
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, sponsors, government agencies, other sporting organisations and service providers to promote and benefit baseball in the Northern Territory
What you will need to succeed
The general manager position will mostly operate within normal business hours, there will be some after-hours and weekend commitments due to the nature of the work we do.
- Able to pass a national police check and Working With Children check (required)
- Valid NT drivers licence (required)
- Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills
- Experience in sports administration or management (desired)
- Ability to express ideas and concepts clearly, effectively and with meaning, and to a variety of audiences
