About the team – The Platform Services team develops, tests, validated and then implements the ASC’s
Technology Platforms, Products and/or Services and works across the Group to develop, test, release and deployment specific Program or Pipeline outcomes to operations.
The team works across the Technology Groups ITSM service lifecycle and is involved in the establishment of virtual (or project) teams to deliver agreed and designed technical plans and to provide guidance and subject matter expertise to and for the Platforms and Products developed and deployed into Production that enable effective sustainment across the organisation.
About the role – Reporting to the Director of Platform Services, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, leading and quality assuring the development, testing, release and deployment lifecycles within Technology Group for ASC products and services that end users, service consumers and customer use.
You will work to support the delivery of Technology Group’s program of work and pipeline management and oversee the delivery of complex technology projects across the ASC and sporting system.
Working across multiple virtual development and delivery teams, this diverse role involves managing platform and product roadmaps through an agreed ITSM lifecycle, ensuring policies, processes, procedures and supporting materials are followed and service acceptance artefacts are appropriately developed, maintained and transitioned to operations.
You will ensure delivery methods are maintained and provide high levels of confidence to Technology Group executive through transparent and contemporary platform development and delivery reporting. Key duties include:
- Oversee the intake and management of Platform Services development and testing work activities, including collaborating with Platform Services team members to prioritise tasks and allocate resources effectively.
- Manage and support service requests and/or issues to ensure timely and efficient ticket management and processing.
- Develop, implement and maintain workflow processes and procedures that maximise and prioritise effort, streamline development and delivery capabilities and enhance productivity.
- Lead and develop specific technical capabilities including, but not limited to
- Software and data for world class sporting software systems.
- Applied Technology and innovation software.
- web-based data visualisation solutions (including mobile and tablet applications, both web app and installable.
- software to collect, process and display data on mobile devices, transport and store data to cloud APIs
- Integrate emerging technology developments including video machine learning, artificial intelligence and others into software customised to provide winning insights generated from the data.
- Manage software development/deployment work best practises such as scrum, agile, git, CI/CD, cloud VM/serverless or similar.
About you – The successful candidate must be a motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and a
willingness to drive, lead and manage teams developing and deploying large programs of work and have experience using project management methodologies within a technology centric environment.
We are seeking an individual with a strategic mindset, can-do attitude, excellent planning and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated high-level of communication skills who is able to maintain successful relationships and confidently work across Technology Group and broader ASC. The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications, certifications and/or experience in information technology, including experience with:
- Cloud and infrastructure, including, containerisation and orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines
- APIs
- DevOps and Automation
- 3-5 years proven experience leading development and/or testing teams to deliver technology projects to fixed timeframes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across department and a passion for coaching or mentoring staff
- Technical proficiency in Analytics tools and Content Management Systems.
- Experience delivering development outcomes using agile, lean methodologies or other project management techniques and methods.
- Experience using performance measures to assess project or similar practice compliance and facilitating delivery status reports for Executive audiences.
