How you can play a part

The Brisbane Broncos are currently seeking a strategic and dynamic Head of Community Partnerships & Government Relations to join our Community & Social Impact team. This senior leadership role is pivotal in advancing the Club’s community impact and strategic direction through trusted stakeholder engagement, strong government and partner relationships and innovative funding initiatives. Reporting to the General Manager - Community & Social Impact, the role drives growth, revenue and long term impact across community programs and broader Club priorities.

Key responsibilities of the Head of Community Partnerships & Government Relations include:

  • Lead strategic partnerships with government, corporate, philanthropic, and community stakeholders to drive impact and funding for Broncos community programs
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships across all levels of government to support policy influence, advocacy and funding opportunities
  • Identify and secure commercial partnerships, sponsorships, and grants to enable program delivery and Club wide initiatives
  • Drive innovation and business development aligned with the Club’s Community & Social Impact Strategy and Theory of Change
  • Monitor policy trends, funding landscapes and community needs to position the Club as a proactive and informed partner
  • Collaborate cross- functionally with internal teams to enhance brand, partnership value and program impact
  • Oversee governance and alignment of community communications and content in collaboration with Marketing & Media teams
  • Represent the Club in community, business, and government forums, supporting visibility, engagement and influence

To be considered

To be considered for this opportunity you will have

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (such as public policy, communications, business and/or community services)
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership capacity, including successfully guiding high performing teams
  • Significant experience in a similar role
  • Proven success in securing and managing government funding or commercial partnerships, with deep knowledge of the policy and funding landscape
  • Extensive stakeholder engagement experience, including strong networks across all levels of government, corporates and community sectors
  • Strong strategic thinking and business development capabilities, with a proactive, solutions focused on mindset
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and experience engaging with First Nations communities, particularly in youth and education contexts
  • Exceptional communication, relationship building and leadership skills including experience in preparing high-level briefings, proposals and reports
