The PNG Chiefs are seeking a Head of Medical Services to establish and lead the club's medical function ahead of our inaugural 2028 NRL season.
Lead the club's medical department, including physiotherapy and clinical services, across the playing squad
Design and implement injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation protocols to NRL medical standards
Manage player health records, return-to-play decisions and medical risk in partnership with the Head of Performance and Head Coach
Build relationships with local and Australian medical and hospital networks to ensure appropriate specialist and emergency care pathways in Port Moresby
Ensure the club meets NRL medical compliance, accreditation and reporting requirements
Lead recruitment and development of the club's physiotherapy and medical support staff
What we're looking for:
Registered medical practitioner or equivalent senior clinical qualification, with experience in elite or professional sport
Track record leading a medical team in a high-performance sporting environment
Experience establishing clinical protocols and governance in a new or developing environment
Sound judgement operating with limited existing local medical infrastructure and the need to build networks from scratch, and an adaptable, roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic
A genuine passion for developing PNG nationals within the program, with a track record of building local talent and capability
Willingness to relocate to Port Moresby for the length of the contract
