Description

Boccia is a unique sport, specifically designed to include people with significant physical impairments including the most severely affected. Boccia was originally played by athletes with cerebral palsy but now includes athletes with other impairments that affect motor skills. The sport is played competitively at national and international levels.

The primary purpose of the Talent Development Coach (SA/VIC) is to provide technical and tactical coaching to talent development athletes.  This role will also have a focus on supporting pre-emerging players into the pathway, talent identification and the development of athletes to transition into the BA High Performance Program. 

The ideal candidate may not have prior experience or knowledge of Boccia; however, they should possess a strong curiosity and a willingness to learn. They will be able to transfer their existing expertise to foster an environment where athletes can achieve their full potential both on and off the court.

This is a part-time 0.5 FTE position contracted to 30 June 2027.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Coaching Accreditation
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Drivers Licence
  • Ability to work effectively both autonomously and in a team
  • Strong values that align to Boccia Australia's vision
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience incorporating performance analysis into training plans.
  • Understanding of athlete welfare, mental health, and wellbeing in performance settings
  • Skilled in administration, reporting, and planning with strong computer skills
