About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Sport (Senior School), the Head of Rowing will provide strategic and operational leadership of the school's rowing program, overseeing athlete development, coaching staff, competition planning and program operations.

The role includes:

  • Leading and implementing the strategic direction of the rowing program.

  • Coaching and developing student athletes across a range of age groups and abilities.

  • Managing and mentoring rowing coaches and support staff.

  • Planning and overseeing training programs, regatta participation and school rowing events.

  • Developing talent pathways that support participation, progression and performance.

  • Managing program budgets, equipment and operational requirements.

  • Building strong partnerships with students, parents, staff and external rowing stakeholders.

  • Promoting student wellbeing, sportsmanship and a positive team culture.

  • Ensuring compliance with all safety, risk management and child safeguarding requirements.

About You

You will be a highly motivated and experienced rowing professional who can inspire students and lead a successful program.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Significant coaching and leadership experience within rowing programs.

  • Strong technical knowledge of rowing and athlete development.

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and manage coaching teams.

  • Excellent organisational, communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A commitment to nurturing the holistic development and wellbeing of young people.

  • Sound knowledge of rowing safety and risk management practices.

  • Current coaching accreditation and First Aid qualifications (or willingness to obtain).

  • A valid Working With Children Check and eligibility to work in Australia.
