About the role

The role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Arncliffe Youth Centre, providing frontline leadership and supervision of staff and patrons while ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of recreational services and programs. We’re looking for someone with initiative and creativity, someone who brings new ideas, strengthens customer experience, and contributes to the ongoing growth of our team and facility. The role will report to and provide direct support to the Centre Coordinator - Arncliffe Youth Centre.

About you

You will be expected to be:

  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring activities, bookings, programs, competitions, and events are delivered safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Supervise and support Recreational Attendants in the delivery of day-to-day facility operations, promoting accountability, teamwork, and high standards of performance.
  • Lead and support staff training, mentoring, and onboarding to ensure consistent service delivery contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service and promote a positive experience for all patrons in accordance with the customer experience charter.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for customer enquiries, complaints, incidents, and operational issues, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
  • Implement operational, opening, closing, and security procedures to ensure the safe, secure, and efficient day-to-day operation of the facility.
  • Monitor and supervise the facility and promote a safe environment, ensuring compliance with venue rules and safety requirements, and respond promptly to hazards, incidents, or behaviours that may place staff or patrons at risk.
  • Flexibility to work across the span of hours ranging from 5:00am to 11:00pm, able to work weekends and night shifts

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Demonstrated experience in supervising and operating sports and recreation centres.
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or coordinating staff in a customer service environment.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively plan and deliver community and sports programs that meet community needs
  • Proficiency in the use of software applications and technology in the recreation & sports industry.
  • Ability to undertake manual handling duties and physical tasks associated with the role.
  • Knowledge of indoor sports such as basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton, or pickleball.
  • Current First Aid certificate is relevant to the role.
  • Valid Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Salary Range: From $51,605 pa - $57,797 pa + 12% superannuation
