About the Role

Seymour College is seeking an outstanding and dynamic leader to join our community as the Head of Rowing.  This exciting leadership opportunity is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the College's rowing program, ensuring an exceptional experience for all students.

Working closely with the Director of Sport, the Head of Rowing leads all aspects of the program including stakeholder engagement, risk and compliance, budget management, regatta operations and program planning. The role is central to building a positive, inclusive and high-performing rowing environment where students are encouraged and supported.

The Head of Rowing also plays an important role in leading a highly successful and well established rowing program while contributing to the broader sporting life of the College.

The Key Responsibilities Are

  • Design and oversee training programs, competitions, camps and regatta operations
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with students, families, coaches and community stakeholders
  • Support student leadership and representative pathway opportunities
  • Manage rowing resources, equipment, budgets and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate key rowing events and actively engage with the Friends of Rowing community
  • Ensure high standards of risk management, compliance and student safety

You will bring:

  • Relevant qualifications (including rowing accreditation) and demonstrated experience leading a successful rowing program
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring capability
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and operational capability
  • Sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative approach and alignment with the values of Seymour College
  • Current First Aid qualifications, a valid Working with Children Check and Driver's Licence and RRHAN-EC certification
