The role
We are recruiting two Duty Manager Leisure & Aquatic Operations positions to support safe, welcoming and high-quality operations across Council’s Leisure and Aquatic Centres.
In this role, you will provide day-to-day leadership and support to aquatic staff, oversee safe pool operations, respond to incidents, support customer service and help ensure our centres are safe, clean and well-presented for the community.
You will work in line with supervision plans, safe work procedures, industry guidelines and Council’s customer service standards.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Lead and support aquatic staff during day-to-day centre operations.
- Supervise aquatic areas and ensure lifeguards follow safety procedures.
- Respond confidently to incidents, rescues and first aid situations.
- Monitor pool plant, equipment and water quality requirements.
- Support a safe, clean and welcoming experience for customers and facility users.
- Maintain records and assist with continuous improvement of aquatic services.

You will have:
- TAFE NSW Pool Operations, RLSSA Technical Operations or equivalent.
- Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
- Senior First Aid Certificate.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Experience in the operation of leisure and aquatic centres.
- Knowledge of pool plant, equipment, water quality and chemical handling requirements.
- Experience leading or working within a team environment.
- Ability to work across a 7-day roster.
- Ability to swim 200m continuously within 6 minutes.
- Evidence of full unrestricted working rights in Australia.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $77,261, Grade E, Step 1 + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
