The Opportunity

You will partner with every NBL and WNBL club to help them grow their commercial and strategic performance.

That means building tailored plans with each club, running the benchmarking engine that shares knowledge, leading the Club CEO forums, and navigating important stakeholder relationships across government, venues, sponsors, broadcasters in a way that opens doors and drives better outcomes for clubs.

Your direct team is Teambo, which is the NBL's equivalent of the NBA's renowned TMBO (Team Marketing and Business Operations) function. Modelled on that global best practice, Teambo acts as a strategic consulting partner to every club: embedding best practice in ticketing, membership growth, marketing, digital, arena experience, data and analytics, and sponsorship. You will lead, develop and direct this team so that every club has access to league-level expertise and the support to act on it.

None of this works without trust. Club CEOs and their teams will only open up and act on advice from someone they believe in. Building and maintaining deep, credible relationships with every club, NBL and WNBL is not a soft skill in this role, it's the foundation everything else is built on.

And trust alone isn't enough. This role leads through influence, not mandate. You have no direct authority over how clubs run their business, but what you have is credibility, insight and the ability to create the conditions where clubs want to move forward together. The best outcomes here will come from club leaders wanting to move because TEAMBO helped give them the insight, the tools and the confidence to do it.

What You Will Own

• Club strategy and annual business planning across NBL and WNBL
• The Teambo support function - leading, developing and directing the team
• Club performance benchmarking and tailored profitability action plans
• The NBL and WNBL Club CEO/GM forums - running it, owning the agenda, following through
• Partnering with Clubs to help them drive consumer revenue growth across memberships, ticketing, match-day and arena experience, events and fan acquisition
• Data, analytics and performance insight, translating club-level data into actionable commercial strategy across the portfolio
• Knowledge sharing across the club network surfacing what's working, packaging best practice and making it available for every club to draw on

Who We Are Looking For

We want someone who has operated at executive or senior commercial level and delivered results that matter - not someone who has managed the process, but someone who has owned the outcome.

You will be right for this if you:

• Have led senior teams and held genuine P&L accountability
• Communicate with confidence in boardrooms, Club CEO and Owner meetings and government settings
• Make decisions quickly and back them with sound commercial judgment
• Builds trust quickly, deeply and influences without authority, can shift a room, change a mind and move an organisation without a direct line
• Understand how sports clubs, leagues and commercial ecosystems create value including direct-to-consumer revenue, membership models, event-led engagement and the league-to-club consulting model
• Thrive in a fast-moving environment where expectations are high and pace is real
