The NBL is one of the premier basketball leagues in the world, and we are growing fast. But some of the most important work we do does not happen inside the arena. It happens in the content people share, the creators who bring our players to life, and the stories that connect us to communities across the country.

This is the role that owns that world. As our Head of Creator and Influencer Strategy, you will shape how the NBL shows up in culture beyond the court, build a creator ecosystem that expands our reach and relevance, and lead a CSR program that reflects our genuine commitment to diversity, Indigenous communities and inclusion.

The Role

You will report to the Chief Content and Media Officer and work across media, content, commercial, marketing, clubs, players and community partners. This is a senior, strategic role with real scope and real visibility.

Day to day, you will be:

Creator and Influencer Leadership

  • Leading the NBL's strategy for creators and influencers across athletes, external creators, personalities and cultural contributors
  • Building a structured creator ecosystem with clear relationship tiers and year-round collaboration opportunities
  • Identifying emerging creators early and integrating them into League storylines, events and cultural moments
  • Supporting clubs, players and agents with guidance that strengthens the League's identity through creator engagement

Off Court Storytelling and Cultural Narrative

  • Owning and evolving the League's off-court narrative centred around personality, culture and lifestyle
  • Developing creator-led formats that extend the NBL's presence across music, fashion, gaming and youth culture
  • Partnering with media, content, social and commercial teams to embed creator storytelling across campaigns and platforms

CSR Leadership

  • Leading the League's CSR strategy across diversity and inclusion, Indigenous affairs and LGBTQ+ communities
  • Building meaningful partnerships with community organisations, creators and advocates
  • Ensuring representation and inclusion are authentically embedded into League campaigns, content and events
  • Elevating diverse voices and lived experiences through powerful storytelling across the sport

Strategic Partnerships, Measurement and Platform Innovation

  • Developing creator-driven programs for major League moments including season launches, marquee games and Finals
  • Exploring emerging opportunities in AI-driven content, digital creators and immersive formats
  • Establishing a measurement framework across reach, relevance, engagement, sentiment and cultural impact
  • Partnering with commercial teams to integrate creators into brand partnerships and League initiatives

Who We're Looking For

We want someone who is genuinely embedded in the creator economy, moves fast when culture moves, and has the relationship-building capability to bring the right people into the League's orbit.

You are the right fit if you:

  • Have deep knowledge of the creator economy and how digital creators influence modern sport and entertainment
  • Can identify emerging cultural trends early and translate them into compelling, creator-led storytelling
  • Have strong relationship-building capability across creators, athletes, agents, media and community partners
  • Bring high cultural awareness and genuine sensitivity and respect for diverse communities
  • Have experience delivering initiatives related to diversity and inclusion, Indigenous engagement or LGBTQ+ programming
  • Think strategically and can execute programs and partnerships effectively without losing momentum
  • Are comfortable working across a large organisation with multiple internal and external stakeholders
