Rowing Queensland (RQ) is the governing body for rowing in Queensland.

The Role

The Service Delivery Manager is responsible for the coordinated delivery of Rowing Queensland’s operational and event services. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the role leads the team that manages regatta delivery, safety systems, event sanctioning, stakeholder communication, and post-event reviews. It oversees day-to-day service operations, maintains compliance with safety requirements, supports consistent event standards, and ensures timely responses to member and stakeholder needs.

The Service Delivery Manager ensures that Rowing Queensland events and operational functions run to standard and that participants, volunteers, clubs, schools, and partners receive reliable and well-managed services throughout the year.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the events, operations and membership team, oversee Regatta secretary services and training, oversee the coordination of official and volunteer work groups
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the Events Team, serve as the primary liaison between events team and regatta host and relevant stakeholders
  • Facilitate agreements between regatta hosts and the governing body, ensuring mutual understanding of roles and responsibilities
  • Sanction events and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, develop the regatta calendar and schedule, handle regatta applications, develop a comprehensive playbook for regatta hosts, providing hosts with essential resources and educational material
  • Oversea regatta secretary services, educate clubs and schools on the use of Rowing Manager, Revolutionise and RP7 software
  • Develop, maintain and review risk management plans for both on-water and off-water activities, including the boat sheds, office, and regatta sites.
  • Review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) to guide event operations.
  • Ensure all compliance and legislative requirements for Rowing Queensland are met
  • Maintain operational readiness of all assets
  • Work with officials to develop safe work practices and assist with regatta jury functions.

About You:

You are relationship-focussed, organised and comfortable working across both operational and stakeholder priorities.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in event management and operations, preferably in a sporting organisation context.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and risk management principles.
