Our people are passionate about their communities and connected to their teams. They’re motivated by our genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion, and our clear, compelling plan for our global city: Sustainable Sydney 2030 - 2050 Continuing the Vision

Be part of a purpose-led organisation with care at its core. You’ll make a difference by acting in the best interests of our communities and city. Be better together with collaborative and inclusive partnerships. Embrace possibilities and be open to new ideas and creating bold solutions.

About the role

Are you someone who thrives in operational leadership in a busy recreation centre environment, and is passionate about leading and coaching a frontline team to deliver high-quality, community-focused recreation services? We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Team Leader to take operational leadership and manage the day-to-day service delivery of a recreation centre and its associated synthetic sportsfields within our growing recreation precinct.

In this role, you’ll provide visible on-site supervision, leading and developing a frontline team, managing operational workflows, responding to incidents, ensuring facilities are presented to a high standard, and maintaining strong relationships with users, contractors and stakeholders. Your responsibilities will also include customer service delivery, maintenance coordination and the application of safety and compliance standards, ensuring our venues operate consistently, safely and to a high quality.

Working under the guidance of the Precinct Manager, you’ll help drive consistent precinct-wide practices, support service improvements, contribute to planning and reporting, and ensure programs, events and activations are operationally ready and aligned with community needs. You’ll also support the Precinct Manager with the transition, opening and activation of the new Huntley Street Recreation Centre as this growing precinct continues to expand.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • experience coordinating operations within recreation, leisure or community facilities, including supervising frontline staff and maintaining high service delivery standards
  • proven ability to lead frontline teams and deliver high-quality services
  • solid financial and operational management skills
  • excellent communication and engagement capability, working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • the ability to drive service improvement and support operational planning.

The recommended applicant would need to be flexible in the spread of hours you work and be available to work weekdays, weekends and nights.
