Strategic and Financial leadership for basketball on the Gold Coast

Gold Coast City Regional Basketball Association (GCCRBA) is the peak body responsible for the governance, growth and long-term sustainability of basketball across the Gold Coast region. Supporting 15 affiliated clubs and more than 5,000 registered participants, GCCRBA delivers pathways from grassroots participation through to representative and high-performance programs.

We are seeking a commercially astute General Manager to provide strategic and financial leadership as the organisation enters its next phase of growth.

About the Role

Reporting to the GCCRBA Board, the General Manager is accountable for the overall strategic direction, financial sustainability and organisational performance of the association.

The role focuses on delivering the Strategic Plan, strengthening financial systems, diversifying revenue streams, and building strong partnerships across government, commercial and basketball stakeholders. Operational delivery is supported by a capable management team, allowing the General Manager to concentrate on strategy, governance, funding and growth.

This is a senior executive role suited to a leader with strong financial acumen and experience operating in a complex, stakeholder-driven sporting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the GCCRBA Strategic Plan in partnership with the Board.
• Provide strong financial leadership, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Ensure long-term financial sustainability through revenue growth, funding and commercial partnerships.
• Lead engagement with Local, State and Federal Government to secure funding and advocate for facilities
• Oversee governance, risk management and compliance frameworks.
• Build strong relationships with affiliated clubs, Basketball Queensland and key partners.
• Provide executive leadership to senior staff and support a high-performance organisational culture.
• Drive business development opportunities that support participation growth and elite pathways

About You

You are a strategic, commercially minded leader with the ability to operate confidently at Board level and across a broad stakeholder network.

You will bring:

• Proven senior leadership experience, ideally within sport or not-for-profit organisations.
• Strong financial management capability, including budget oversight and funding models.
• Experience developing sustainable revenue streams and partnerships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
• A collaborative and values-driven leadership approach

Experience in sports administration, community sport or membership-based organisations will be highly regarded.
