Lead, Inspire, and Promote Excellence in Sport
Abbotsleigh is seeking an outstanding Head of Senior School Sport to join our dynamic team. This is a key leadership role within the School, responsible for fostering enjoyment, participation, and excellence in sport and physical activity for every girl in the Senior School.
Reporting to the Director of Sport, you will lead and coordinate the Senior School co-curricular sport and outdoor education programs, ensuring high levels of engagement and achievement across all sporting disciplines.
About the Role
As Head of Senior School Sport, you will:
- Provide leadership and oversight of the Senior School sports program, including Saturday sport and IGSA competitions
- Manage representative pathways, school carnivals, and specialised programs for all levels of competition
- Oversee resources, timetabling, equipment, and staff allocation for sports programs
- Lead and develop a team of sports coordinators, coaches, referees, and convenors, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development
- Promote sport and outdoor programs within the school community, ensuring strong communication and recognition of achievements.

- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence positive change
- Passion for sport and experience in developing structured, competitive programs
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisational, administrative, and communication abilities
- Capacity to manage competing demands and deadlines in a multi-sport environment
- Warmth, energy, empathy, and good humour
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience in a school setting
- Relevant qualifications in Sport, Outdoor Education, or Management
- Understanding of risk management in co-curricular activities
- NESA Accreditation (where applicable).
