Lead the Future of Hockey in NSW
Hockey NSW is seeking Expressions of Interest for the position of Chief Executive Officer, to lead the next phase of the organisation which will include growth and transformation. Hockey is one of Australia’s most community-driven sports. At Hockey NSW our vision is to inspire the NSW community to connect, play and reach their potential in hockey. Our mission is to build active, inclusive and connected communities through hockey.
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic leadership to modernise Hockey NSW’s structures, strengthen participation and performance pathways, and deliver sustainable commercial and infrastructure outcomes.
We are seeking a leader who:
- Has a proven record in leading organisational reform, growth and innovation, benchmarked against best practice in sports management.
- Understands the landscape of federated sport systems with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across a diversified stakeholder cohort and gain alignment
- Ability to build trust and collaboration across staff, member Associations and the wider hockey community including both the active community, as well as celebrating and supporting Hockey NSW’s legacy.
- A proven track record of demonstrating strong financial management, commercial strategy and delivery, as well as driving good governance through both practice and capability.
- A dynamic leader, driven to work at pace, delivering quality outcomes aligned to best practice through a multifaceted, complex workforce of passionate hockey professionals.
Whilst not essential, a background or strong understanding of the sport of hockey and/or the NSW hockey community will be highly regarded.

Tenure: Full-time, ongoing appointment
