About the Position
The nib Newcastle Knights are seeking an experienced and dynamic NRL Head of Rehabilitation to lead our injury rehabilitation and return-to-play programs for the NRL squad.
Based at the Newcastle Centre of Excellence, this is a senior clinical role responsible for managing injured players through all stages of recovery - from acute injury management to full return to elite competition. You will work closely with the NRL Head Physiotherapist, Head of Performance, and the wider medical team to deliver evidence-based rehabilitation programs that achieve world-class recovery outcomes.
This role also involves managing complex injury cases, developing rehabilitation protocols, and mentoring junior physiotherapy staff to ensure the highest standards of clinical excellence.
About You
You're an innovative and highly skilled sports physiotherapist who thrives in a high-performance environment. You have a proven track record in elite athlete rehabilitation and the ability to lead a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to player care.
You will ideally have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a physiotherapist.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in sports physiotherapy with demonstrated expertise in elite athlete rehabilitation.
- Proven experience managing complex injury cases and return-to-play protocols.
- Postgraduate qualifications in sports physiotherapy or a related field (highly regarded).
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide others.
- Previous Rugby League or Rugby Union experience (highly preferred).
