The Opportunity

We're seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer to provide enterprise-level financial leadership, overseeing the full spectrum of financial strategy, commercial operations, procurement, and corporate services.

As a key member of our executive team reporting directly to the NBL Group CEO, you'll play a pivotal role in guiding the organisation's financial health, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring operational and fiscal excellence in alignment with long-term growth and governance objectives. You'll also serve as a key advisor to the CEO and Board, shaping investment decisions, risk management frameworks, and major commercial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Leadership & Strategic Advisory

  • Act as key member of Executive Leadership Team, contributing to whole-of-business strategy and decision-making
  • Serve as trusted financial and commercial advisor to CEO and Board on investment decisions and risk management
  • Lead and mentor high-performing teams across finance, procurement, and commercial operations
  • Represent the organisation externally with banks, regulators, auditors, and key stakeholders

Financial Strategy & Operations

  • Lead development and execution of financial strategy, capital planning, and long-term financial modelling
  • Oversee enterprise-wide financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Ensure effective governance, risk management, compliance, and audit processes
  • Drive financial performance improvement and margin optimisation across business units

Commercial Leadership & Procurement

  • Evaluate and shape major strategic initiatives, including partnerships, investments, and M&A opportunities
  • Provide executive oversight of procurement function, embedding governance and value-for-money principles
  • Guide business case development and investment evaluations for new ventures
  • Lead procurement transformation and integration with broader operational plans

Systems & Transformation

  • Oversee financial systems, ERP platforms, and digital finance initiatives for scalability
  • Champion automation and continuous improvement across finance and corporate services
  • Strengthen enterprise risk frameworks and lead transformation projects

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Business with CA/CPA qualification (MBA highly regarded)
  • 10+ years' experience in senior finance leadership roles, including executive-level and Board engagement
  • Demonstrated success in financial strategy, procurement, governance, and commercial decision-making
  • Experience managing M&A, strategic partnerships, and organisational transformation
  • Deep expertise in corporate finance, strategic planning, and commercial operations
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional leadership and team-building capability
  • Systems acumen including ERP, BI tools, financial modelling, and automation platforms
  • Proven ability to operate in complex, fast-paced environments with a growth mindset
