This role is respnsible for overseeing the technical direction of football within the Hills by guiding and leading the technical and representative pathways to provide an enhanced football experience for members.

Leading the Hills Football Inc. and Hills United FC Technical personnel, this role will focus on elevating the football profile within the Hills whilst also meeting the standards set out for coaches, players, Clubs etc. and ensuring a full representative pathway is provided.

Key focus areas and accountabilities of the Head of Football include:

  • Leading the technical and strategic elements of player and coach development within Hills Football and Hills United FC.
  • Oversee and lead the strategic direction and therefore delivery of Player Development (Hills Football Development and Hills United FC) programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee and lead the strategic direction and therefore delivery of Coach Development programs and initiatives.
  • Ensuring the mentioned programs and initiatives are aligned with the overall direction of the Association and Hills United FC, whilst also meeting any assigned (from governing bodies) or internal standards and measures of performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant football Association standards for coaching accreditation and development.o
  • Create, manage and strengthen effective relationships with key stakeholders, in the conduct of all Hills Football Development and Hills United FC programs and initiatives.

This is a full-time role which requires direct contact with Hills Football Member Clubs and the face-to-face support of technical personnel involved in the delivery of courses and programs mentioned above. This will also include mentoring current and aspiring Technical Directors and coaches both within the grassroots and elite Club environment, but also internally within Hills Football and Hills United.  

With the support of the General Manager, the Head of Football will oversee and lead the facilitation and communication of the above-mentioned tasks.

Selection Criteria:

  • Must have a minimum of a Football Australia/AFC A Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working within the sports industry within the technical player or coach development fields, or other respective areas. 
  • Strong football knowledge related to coach education and player development frameworks.
  • Proven skills and experience in the implementation and delivery of football development programs and initiatives.
  • Experience managing a team and leading the strategic alignment of an organisation/s.
  • High technical, organisational and planning skills.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Highly organised with strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • A current NSW Drivers License.
  • Working with Children Check Clearance.
  • First Aid Certificate.
