The Opportunity
The NBL Group is experiencing aggressive growth with significant opportunities across our expanding portfolio including NBL, WNBL, NBL1, HoopsFest, NBA games, Euroleague games, and many other exciting properties. We're seeking an exceptional Chief Partnerships Officer to lead our commercial partnerships, licensing and community functions while delivering ambitious revenue and margin targets.
As a key member of our executive team reporting directly to the NBL Group CEO, you'll maximise value from existing commercial partnerships while driving strategic initiatives across our fast-paced, high-performance environment. This role offers the opportunity to commercialise products across our entire NBL Group portfolio and work closely with our Chief Growth Officer to integrate new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Partnerships Leadership
- Deliver annual revenue and margin targets across the commercial partnership portfolio
- Build and execute strategic plans to maximise value from existing commercial partners
- Lead management and servicing of all current partnerships, ensuring mutual value delivery
- Develop comprehensive account plans with shared vision, priorities, and activation strategies
Strategic Business Development
- Collaborate across internal departments, clubs, broadcasters, and venues to support partner objectives
- Research global best practices and apply learnings to enhance performance and innovation
- Partner closely with Chief Growth Officer on new partnership opportunities
- Proactively manage risks and identify growth opportunities within existing relationships
Licensing & Community Oversight
- Provide strategic guidance to licensing and community functions
- Develop and implement plans that meet revenue targets while strengthening brand value
- Foster collaboration with clubs to enhance joint licensing and community initiatives
- Champion whole-of-business approach to community programmes with commercial integration
Executive Leadership
- Lead and develop high-performing teams with focus on accountability and results
- Provide strategic leadership to EGM Partnerships and ensure alignment with NBL goals
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and executive team initiatives
About You
- Extensive executive-level experience in commercial operations within high-performance environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex partnerships and deliver sustained revenue growth
- Proven leadership of senior teams with focus on accountability and performance excellence
- Strong commercial acumen with sound financial literacy and P&L management experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse audiences
- Deep understanding of the sports industry and its commercial landscape
- Results-driven with positive energy and ability to work quickly in fast-paced environments
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with ability to drive collaboration
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing or similar field preferred
