About the Role

Melbourne Vixen’s Head Coach is key leadership role within Netball Victoria, primarily responsible for the development, delivery and ongoing evolution of the Melbourne Vixen’s Netball Program. This role is accountable for developing and driving a high-performance culture, one which promotes success on and off the court, aligning to the strategic objectives of Netball Victoria and the broader National High-Performance system.

In addition to leading the elite program, the Head Coach will contribute to the strategic direction of Netball Victoria’s high-performance pathways, including Vixens’ Academy, also playing an active role in the development of athletes and coaches. Success in this role will require the ability to innovate and implement forward thinking strategies both on and off the court, while contributing to the Melbourne Vixens’ reputation, brand and commercial growth.

You will:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of a world-class high-performance program, aligned with Netball Victoria’s strategic vision.
  • Inspire and develop elite athletes and coaches within the Melbourne Vixens and the Vixens Academy.
  • Drive a high-performance culture that promotes success, athlete wellbeing, and personal development.
  • Represent the Melbourne Vixens and Netball Victoria in key external forums and media.
  • Build strong relationships with Netball Australia, VIS, and other strategic stakeholders.
  • Manage all operational aspects of the program including team logistics, staff coordination, budget oversight, and reporting.

About You

You are an experienced High Performance Coach with a deep understanding of elite-level netball, athlete development, and pathway systems. You are a strategic thinker, a clear communicator, and an inspiring leader who thrives on innovation and collaboration.

You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading elite Netball programs and managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional ability to foster strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • A passion for driving positive culture and sustainable success in high-performance environments.
  • A clear vision for the future of women’s sport and a commitment to ongoing improvement.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Coaching Accreditation
  • Netball Australia High Performance Coach Accreditation (or international equivalent), or acceptance into this accreditation course
  • Working with Children Check (linked to Netball Victoria)
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel interstate
  • Current driver’s licence
