About the team – Performance Services is a specialised multi-disciplinary team of practitioners who deliver performance services to support the AIS campus’ based high performance activities that include NSO elite, pre-elite and development and intensive rehabilitation camps, and National Training Centres. The Team oversees the management and quality assurance of the AIS High Performance Centre facilities dedicated to supporting the provision of performance services to Australia’s national sporting network. Services from within the multi-disciplinary team can incorporate a range of elements from Nutrition &, Food Services to Strength & Conditioning and Biomechanics. The Performance Services Team works with NSO’s in the planning and delivery of the best possible camp environment that will optimise the performance outcomes NSO’s are wishing to achieve. These outcomes are discussed, developed, customised and then agreed with the NSO prior to confirming a camp schedule to target the outcomes the sport is wanting. Complementary themes can be built into camp plans to enhance specific performance outcomes, including adaptation and environmental support, pre-departure and competition strategies.

About the role – This position works across ASC teams and in consultation with a range of external stakeholders, undertakes project management, coordination, logistics and administration that supports high performance activities to capitalise on the facilities and expertise available on the Canberra campus.

This includes:

  1. Coordinate stakeholder’s campus HP requirements, including targeted AIS performance services.
  2. Attend and contribute to both strategic and operational NSO high performance activity planning meetings.
  3. Coordinate the AIS HP camp and facility booking management systems and processes.
  4. Provide high level project, administrative and operational support including the preparation and/or review of relevant materials and documents.
  5. Collate and produce reporting on pre and post camp data on performance services impact, HP facility operations and overall performance outcomes of the sport camp.
  6. Deliver quality advice and reporting on relevant issues to senior management.
  7. Contribute to and support a positive HP user experience by contributing to seamless and aligned internal processes across ASC business areas.
  8. Foster a culture of outcome driven, quality service delivery and support across groups of the ASC
  9. Actively promote and role model the ASC values of Excellence, Integrity, Respect and Teamwork, and contribute to positive organisational change, effective communication, and continuous improvement at the ASC.

About you - The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary or other qualifications (sport management , business administration, or similar field) and/or demonstrated success and experience providing project and general administrative support at a senior management level.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a high performance sport environment.
  • Exceptional organisation skills and proven ability to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Well-developed communication skills (including interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and representation) and a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience using information databases and computerised booking systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work flexibly to manage ambiguous or conflicting situations with discretion and tact.
