About the Role

We welcome a passionate and purpose-driven individual to lead our sport program as Head of Sport. This permanent full-time position offers the opportunity to lead the strategic direction, development, and day-to-day operations of a vibrant and diverse school sport program. The successful applicant will foster a culture of participation, performance, student wellbeing, and integrity, underpinned by the values of Loreto Normanhurst, while promoting the sport program within the school and broader community to empower, celebrate, and encourage girls to lead through sport.
The role is expected to commence in Term 3 2025 however, the start date is negotiable.
The Ideal Candidate
- Provide inspiring leadership to the Sport Department, guiding staff and coaches to deliver a high-quality, inclusive program.
- Champion student participation across all levels of sport, supporting wellbeing, positive behaviour, and personal growth.
- Oversee the seamless coordination of trials, fixtures, carnivals, transport, and special events with precision and care.
- Ensure all sport activities meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and duty of care, aligned with WHS and Child Safety policies.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement through strategic planning, data-informed evaluation, and a commitment to excellence.
- Actively represent and promote the sport program within the school and wider community, celebrating student achievement and fostering a culture of leadership through sport.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Hold relevant qualifications and bring demonstrated leadership experience in sport management.
- Communicate with clarity, warmth, and confidence, fostering respectful and supportive relationships with students, staff, families, and the wider community.
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritise competing demands, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Combine strategic insight with operational capability to deliver a sport program that is both aspirational and well-executed.
- Champion student wellbeing and committed to providing inclusive opportunities for all girls to participate, develop, and lead through sport.
- Demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and availability to work weekends and travel to external venues as required.
