About Volleyball Australia
Volleyball Australia (VA) is the peak body for the administration of the sport of Volleyball in Australia. VA’s Mission is to lead, partner and support the growth in participation, performance and profile of the sport in Australia.
We’re entering a pivotal phase of strategic growth and are seeking a highly capable National People & Culture Manager to join our Executive Team. This is a newly created role designed to lead people initiatives across the organisation and broader state network—shaping the culture and capability of volleyball nationally.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO, this role will drive VA’s people and culture strategy, driving workforce development, culture-building, and HR best practice across Volleyball Australia and its member bodies. You’ll play a central role in leading the delivery of core P&C functions and initiatives that strengthen alignment, capability, and employee experience across the network, while also overseeing the roll-out of the Employment Hero digital HR platform.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Design and implement a national people and culture strategy aligned to the sport’s vision.
- Develop initiatives to promote employee engagement, wellbeing, and a positive organisational culture.
- Lead end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes across the network.
- Support capability development, performance systems and change initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant workplace legislation, employment standards and HR best practices.
- Oversee the roll-out and ongoing management of the Employment Hero digital platform across the Volleyball organisations.
About you
We are seeking a dynamic and people-first HR professional who thrives in collaborative environments and can confidently navigate diverse stakeholder needs. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Experience in HR, People & Culture, or organisational development, with a focus on practical implementation.
- Knowledge of HR legislation, governance and digital platforms (Employment Hero desirable but not necessary).
- A track record of embedding inclusive, high-performance people practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
