Judo Australia is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth. This is a critical leadership position focused on driving participation, financial sustainability, and positive stakeholder engagement across the Judo community.

As the General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the organisation, lead a small and passionate team, and work closely with the Board to implement Judo Australia’s strategic vision. With a strong emphasis on the Play Well Strategy, the GM will champion initiatives that support community participation and ensure the long-term health and sustainability of the sport in Australia.

Key Focus Areas

• Financial Leadership – Oversee budgeting, reporting and ensure sound financial governance.
• Participation Growth – Lead national delivery of Judo Australia's Play Well programs to increase engagement and membership.
• Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong, collaborative relationships with members, partners, government agencies, and international bodies.
• Strategic Execution – Translate vision into action through effective implementation of national strategies.

What We Are Looking For

We’re seeking a values-driven, energetic leader with:

• Proven experience in a senior management or operational leadership role.
• Strong financial literacy and a track record in managing budgets and reporting.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and a collaborative leadership style.
• Familiarity with the Australian sports system and a passion for community sport development.
• An understanding of governance frameworks in a not-for-profit environment.

Experience in judo or combat sports is not essential—but a passion for sport and community impact is!
