About the team – The Enterprise & IT Support Services Teams provide a central point of contact, and support model, for all ASC End Users into Technology Group and collaborate closely across all Service Towers within the group.

Effective management, support and maintenance are essential for a well-functioning IT ecosystem that enables effective use and durability across the organisation. The team’s high level functions and
capabilities include:

  • The Service Desk Team focuses on Level 1 and VIP support managing ASC End User interactions from initiation through to logging, tracking, triage, diagnosis and eventual resolution of IT Incidents or Problems and/or the fulfilment of IT Service Requests.
  • The Systems & Applications Team focuses on Level 2 system and application administration, support and maintenance and managing ASC End User interactions that have been elevated to the team from the Services Desk or other teams within Technology Group. The team will facilitate an additional heightened level of support through diagnosis to resolution of IT Incidents or Problems and/or the fulfilment of IT Service Requests.
  • The I&N Team focuses on Level 3 Infrastructure and Network administration, engineering, support and maintenance and managing ASC End User interactions that have been elevated to the team from the Services Desk, Level 2 Support or other teams within Technology Group. The team will facilitate an additional heightened level of support through diagnosis to resolution of IT Incidents or Problems and/or the fulfilment of IT Service Requests. Further to this, the I&N Team will manage Event Management including proactive monitoring and alerting on ASC Infrastructure and Networks.
  • The Platform Management, Development & Project Support Team, as high-level subject matter experts and platform and system specialists, focus on both proactive management and improvement initiatives of existing BAU platforms as well as assisting Projects (or Virtual Teams) in design and development activities that include transition into operations.

About the role – The Director, Enterprise & IT Support Services will manage and lead the Enterprise & IT Support level 1, 2 & 3 service towers within Technology Group and the team of professionals who maintain and support the operational aspects of IT Services and Service Offerings Technology Group provide to the broader ASC that align with organisational strategies.

The Director is responsible for directing and managing efforts of the Service Desk, Systems and Applications, Infrastructure and Networks as well as Platform & Product Support and Maintenance teams to deliver effectively managed and proactively supported ICT operational solutions aligned to technology strategies as well as building and maintaining constructive relationships throughout that service lifecycle.

The Director will be a disciplined, outcome focused, supportive leader who conducts meaningful engagements with internal and external stakeholders to position the Technology Group as a trusted partner to ASC business.

In addition, the core Enterprise and IT Support accountabilities and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Incident Management
  • Major Incident Management
  • Problem Management
  • Service Request Management
  • System & Application Support and Maintenance
  • Infrastructure Support and Maintenance
  • Networks Support and Maintenance
  • Event Management - Proactive Monitoring & Alert Management
  • Service Acceptance
  • VIP Services
  • ITSM process and tool management

About you – Our ideal candidate must be an experienced leader with extensive knowledge of and demonstrated experience in structured and methodical approaches to Service Delivery, ICT Operations and Support and Maintenance with an ability to focus the teams that achieve the goals of the Technology Group.

You will need to understand the benefits of ITSM and all operational aspects of service support that
include, and are compliant to, standards including technology ecosystem monitoring and alerting, end user interactions, support and maintenance of operational products and platforms that are manages under methodologies such as ITIL that align ICT services efficiently and effectively with the needs of business.

The role will suit a candidate who is passionate about delivering quality and timely services and making a difference within in a small agency. The role requires a pragmatic and disciplined approach that drives service value for internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree or higher qualification/s or demonstrated senior level experience delivering and leading Information Technology Operational teams in a high demand Government service environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years proven experience managing high performance IT Support & Maintenance teams, with demonstrable experience with motivating and developing successful technical teams.
  • Working understanding of ITIL service practices or similar risk mitigation practices appliedacross service lifecycle to drive service value for customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate dynamically and influentially in both written and face-to-face communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and plan improvements, seek approval and drive work that delivers timely outcomes in a service performance context.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Service Delivery and Service Support & Maintenance principles.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling and concise reporting, recommendations or advice to inform executive members and senior management to support decision making.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the ASC.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for this position applicants are required to be Australian citizens only and must be able to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance.
