BTYC Gymnastics, one of Victoria's premier competitive and recreational gymnastics clubs, is seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead our thriving organisation into its next chapter of excellence and growth.
The Opportunity:
This is a full-time leadership role reporting directly to the BTYC Committee of Management. We are looking for a driven individual who can sustain, and improve upon, an operationally and financially solid organisation known for its welcoming and positive community club culture.
With a staff of over 75 coaches and administrators, and a membership of over 1,200, this role is busy, demanding, diverse and ideally for someone who has previously risen to the challenge of this type of management. For exceptional candidates who can demonstrate how they would effectively manage the position responsibilities collaboratively, we are open to considering job-share arrangements.
BTYC Gymnastics is a leader in providing a Child Safe environment, supporting and respecting children, young people, staff, volunteers and participants.
BTYC operates exclusively from purpose-built facilities in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, boasting one of the best training and competition platforms in the gymnastics community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and operational management across all aspects of club operations.
- Oversee financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
- Lead, develop and manage a dedicated team of coaches and administrative staff.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including Gymnastics Victoria, facility providers, and community partners.
- Drive membership growth and retention initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and safety standards.
- Support the Committee of Management in implementation of strategic planning and governance matters.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Sports Administration or related field.
- Proven experience in a senior management role, preferably in a sporting or community organization.
- Strong business acumen with financial management expertise.
- Outstanding and inspirational leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of gymnastics operations or similar sporting environment (preferred) and a genuine understanding and respect for all the health and social benefits participation in gymnastics offers to the community.
- Experience with membership management systems and digital platforms, policy development, and a thorough familiarity with child safety requirements.
- Great organisational skills, efficient working practices, and an ability to think creatively to capitalise on new opportunities.
- The ability to support and manage gymnasts, parents, staff, and regulatory bodies.
