Description

  • Based in Sydney initially, relocating to Brisbane in 2029 (largely a non-travelling role)

Reporting to Rugby Australia’s Director of Women’s High Performance and working closely with the Coaching team, this exciting role will lead one integrated player availability function across Women’s Sevens and the Wallaroos and coordinate its interface with Super Rugby Women’s programs. The role is accountable for the quality and consistency of physiotherapy, injury prevention, rehabilitation and return to performance systems across both national programs. It gives both Head Coaches a clear view of player availability, leads complex, and high-risk cases, develops the two program physiotherapists and ensures complete clinical handovers as players move between national and Super Rugby environments.

Program physiotherapists provide daily treatment, strapping, training, touring and match support. This role focuses on leadership, integration, clinical standards, staff management, data, complex cases and continuity across programs. The role works within Rugby Australia medical governance and in close partnership with the Team Doctor, both Heads of Performance, the Chief Medical Officer and the National Head of Resilience and Rehabilitation.

To be successful, you will need to have:

  • Successful management of complex and long term rehabilitation through return to performance.

  • Experience coordinating care across more than one program or training environment.
  • Experience in women’s high performance sport would be looked upon favourably.
