Position Information

Established for over 40 years, the Fintona rowing program is founded on a proud legacy of teamwork, resilience, and school spirit and is supported by a passionate and committed community. We are currently seeking a dynamic Rowing Coordinator to lead and develop our vibrant rowing program.

As Rowing Coordinator, you will drive the planning and delivery of all aspects of rowing, from energising training sessions to competitive regattas. You will play a pivotal role in supporting student wellbeing, building team camaraderie, and creating a positive, high-performance culture aligned with our school values.

You will also oversee equipment and logistics, ensuring everything runs seamlessly so our crews can perform at their best - on and off the water.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all aspects of the rowing program - from overall strategic goals to individual crew training plans, schedules and staffing;
  • Overseeing crew selection, feedback and development;
  • Fostering a positive, inclusive, high performance team culture;
  • Managing and supporting a dedicated crew of assistant coaches;
  • Keeping equipment and rowing shed in excellent working order and adhering to maintenance requirements;
  • Organising regattas, camps and rowing related events;
  • Establishing a collaborative working relationship with stakeholders such as parents, Friends of Rowing & regulatory bodies; and
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of crews and staff.

About you

To thrive in this role, you will draw upon your passion for rowing and:

  • experience developing a high-performance rowing program and crew rowing techniques;
  • experience onboarding and leading a team of coaches to develop their performance;
  • ability to instill a positive, inclusive and team driven culture;
  • sound knowledge of coaching practices and methodologies, competition and guidelines regulations regarding rowing;
  • demonstrated success managing and maintaining rowing equipment and property; and
  • be a self-starter, with effective organisation and time management skills.

  • Level 2 Coaching Accreditation
  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Drivers Licence
