Hockey Victoria (HV) welcomes nominations for one casual Elected Board Director position as we continue our ongoing pursuit of a strong, sustainable sport over the next decade.
HV is in the second year of its 2025-2028 Strategic Plan which is focussed on:
- Strengthening our Core - Provide support to empower our community and to create quality hockey experiences.
- Expand the Playing Field - Strengthen existing partnerships and pursue new business opportunities to drive commercial and participation growth.
- Reinvest in Hockey - Through new business, strategically reinvest in ‘strengthening the core’

Our aim is to increase participation, provide clear pathways, improve volunteer experiences and deliver high quality competitions, events and programs. In addition, we have bold ambitions to expand our reach by proactively engaging with the fast-growing communities of Victoria and with business partners who share our passion and vision for hockey globally.
To fill an elected Director vacancy, HV is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified director to join the board and serve until the AGM in March 2027. The appointed director may at that point stand for re-election for a standard three-year term subject to standard nomination procedures.
Skills & Experience
We are seeking a person who is passionate about progressing hockey in Victoria, open minded, and willing to constructively and collaboratively contribute to governance activities and support our CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
The HV Board is always seeking to enhance the mix of skills, diversity and experience of the Board to ensure alignment with the Hockey Victoria strategy and industry governance requirements.
While not essential, applicants for this role are encouraged to highlight evidence of their highly developed communication, critical thinking, and strategic skills alongside any relevant experience they bring in areas of:
- Understanding of the Hockey community in Victoria and/or Australia.
- Community sports administration and leadership.
- Government relations & advocacy.
- Commercial, financial, risk or legal qualification and experience which can help strengthen Hockey Victoria’s governance processes.
- High performance sport participation, strategy or advisory experience.
- Understanding of Board operations
