Next Gen Memorial Drive is entering an exciting new phase with the launch of an enhanced Premium Group Fitness offering, including a brand-new Reformer Pilates Studio and a Mind & Body Studio.
We are seeking an exceptional Group Fitness Manager to lead and elevate the club’s complete group fitness ecosystem. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining management and strategic oversight together with a component of high-quality class delivery per week.
The successful candidate will oversee four key studios and programs, ensuring exceptional member experiences, high-performing timetables, and best-in-class instructor standards.
Working closely with the General Manager and Group Product Manager, the Group Fitness Manager will play a pivotal role in building a world-class group fitness product, with the clear vision of creating the most premium Group Fitness facility and offering in Adelaide.
Studios & Programs Overseen
The Group Fitness Manager will be responsible for the leadership, programming, performance, and instructor standards across four studios:
- Reformer Pilates Studio (Premium Members Only)
- Premium Reformer Pilates programming.
- Focus on technique, progression, and high-quality instruction.
- Smaller class sizes designed to deliver a boutique studio experience.
Mind & Body Studio (Premium Members Only)
Programming may include:
- Vinyasa Yoga
- Hatha Yoga
- Yin Yoga
- Rocket Yoga
- Mobility, recovery, and meditation sessions
The studio will focus on wellness, recovery, and holistic health experiences.
Group Fitness Studio (All Members)
A high-energy studio delivering a wide range of classes such as:
- Strength and conditioning
- Functional training
- HIIT
- Athletic conditioning
- Core and mobility classes
Cycle Studio (All Members)
A dedicated indoor cycling studio delivering:
- Performance cycle classes
- Rhythm and music-led rides
- Endurance and interval-based cycling sessions
The program will focus on energy, atmosphere, and performance-driven experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Group Fitness Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the strategy, development, and delivery of the club’s group fitness program across all four studios.
- Design and manage a high-performing timetable that maximises participation and occupancy.
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and manage a team of high-quality instructors.
- Maintain premium brand standards across all studios and class experiences.
- Create a culture of energy, professionalism, and member engagement within the group fitness team.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Group Product Manager to ensure the group fitness offering aligns with the broader Next Gen product vision and strategy.
Instructor Leadership & Development
- Recruit and retain high-quality instructors aligned with the Next Gen premium brand.
- Deliver instructor onboarding and continuous development.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching.
- Host regular instructor meetings and development sessions.
- Ensure consistent class delivery, coaching standards, and member engagement.
Premium Studio Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all four studios.
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and safety standards.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and used correctly.
- Monitor bookings, occupancy, and performance metrics.
- Ensure the studios consistently reflect a premium wellness and fitness environment.
Financial & Budget Management
- Manage the Group Fitness Instructor payroll budget, ensuring the program is commercially sustainable while maintaining high instructor quality.
- Monitor and manage Equipment Cost of Sales (COS) including maintenance, replacements, and studio consumables.
- Work with club leadership to ensure the program operates within agreed financial targets and operational budgets.
Class Delivery
- Deliver high-quality group fitness classes each week.
- Lead by example and set the benchmark for instructor delivery.
- Create exceptional class experiences that build strong member engagement and loyalty.
Member Engagement & Community
- Build a strong studio community across all programs.
- Encourage member participation and regular attendance.
- Promote workshops, events, and specialty classes.
- Work closely with the Sales and Personal Training teams to showcase the value of group fitness within the overall member journey.
Timetable & Programming
- Design a timetable that balances member demand, peak usage times, and commercial performance.
- Regularly review booking and attendance data to optimise programming.
- Introduce new class concepts and experiences to keep the program fresh and exciting.
Standards, Safety & Presentation
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards across all studios.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Deliver a premium environment that reflects the Next Gen brand standards.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing or coordinating Group Fitness programs
- Strong experience delivering Reformer Pilates and/or Mind & Body classes
- Ability to lead, inspire, and develop instructor teams
- Strong organisational and timetable planning skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to use performance data to optimise programming
- Experience managing operational budgets and instructor payroll
- Passion for delivering premium member experiences
- High standards of professionalism and presentation
