About the role:
This role leads and manages the operations of NRL Victoria competitions and events, supports club and volunteer development, and provides operational support across key pathways programs. Working closely with the General Manager, clubs, volunteers and partners, you will ensure competitions are delivered safely, consistently and in line with NRL and NRL Victoria policies and procedures.
In the role you will:
- Plan, deliver and promote NRL Victoria competitions and events, including finals series, gala days and awards.
- Oversee competition administration including fixtures, match sheets, ladders, statistics, and competition resources (e.g., trophies, match books).
- Manage and enforce competition rules and regulations and applicable NRL/NRL Victoria policies, including judiciary and code of conduct procedures.
- Coordinate player registrations, clearances and the LeagueNet system, including age dispensation, duty of care and injury reporting processes.
- Lead club development support (new and existing clubs), coordinate club meetings and assist advisory panel/football committee activities.
- Manage resourcing and service delivery to clubs, including education course administration (League Safe, coaching, first aid) and volunteer support initiatives.
- Monitor and manage Victorian operations budgets, equipment and apparel inventory, workplans and reporting, and drive continuous improvement in processes and programs.
- Provide operational support to pathways programs (e.g., state teams, junior representative teams, Schoolboy Cup/Trophy) and represent NRL Victoria at relevant meetings.
- Oversee coordination of competition and club marketing and promotion (including social media and website), collect and maintain media assets, and identify positive promotional opportunities and partnerships.
Ideally you will have:
- A bachelor's degree or relevant post-secondary qualification (or equivalent experience) in sport, recreation or a related field.
- Experience coordinating and administering sporting competitions, events and associated policies/procedures.
- Strong planning and project delivery skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working with clubs and volunteers, including developing capability and supporting compliance (e.g., training and administration).
- Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and confidence using sport administration systems and databases.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build engaged relationships with club-based volunteers and partners.
- A high level of integrity, credibility and a positive community spirit.
- Knowledge of Rugby League and a commitment to being a positive advocate for NRL Victoria, with the ability to work independently and solve problems creatively.
