About the role:

Reporting to the Business Manager, the Aquatic Centre Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management and continual improvement of the Aquatic Centre, including facilities, staffing, administration, programming and financial performance.

The role leads a diverse team and works collaboratively with Learn to Swim Supervisors, the Director of Swimming / Head Coach and School leadership to ensure high-quality programs, strong participation and positive experiences for students, families and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the Aquatic Centre operates safely, efficiently and in compliance with all legislative, regulatory and School requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement to support the long-term profitability, viability and sustainability of the Aquatic Centre, in partnership with the Business Manager
  • Oversee Learn to Swim programs, providing leadership to ensure program growth, clear student progression pathways and strong enrolment outcomes
  • Oversee coaching standards and swim programs through the effective leadership and management of the Director of Swimming / Head Coach
  • Lead financial planning, budget management, resource allocation and capital expenditure for the Aquatic Centre
  • Ensure high standards of water quality, plant operation, maintenance and presentation of facilities
  • Foster a strong culture of Work Health and Safety and Child Safety across all Aquatic Centre operations
  • Lead, support and develop Aquatic Centre staff, promoting professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Oversee timetabling, rostering and workforce planning to meet current and future program needs
  • Promote the Aquatic Centre and its services to support community engagement and regional, state and national use
  • Actively promote Sunshine Coast Grammar School enrolments by delivering high-quality Aquatic Centre programs and exemplary customer service
  • Establish and oversee the Swimming Support Group, including events and fundraising activities, in collaboration with the Director of Swimming / Head Coach

About you:

The successful applicant will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in the leadership and operation of an aquatic or sports facility
  • Experience overseeing and growing Learn to Swim programs
  • Strong people-leadership skills, with the ability to develop and lead high-performing teams
  • Sound financial and operational management capability
  • A thorough understanding of compliance, safety and regulatory requirements for aquatic facilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A strong commitment to child safety, service excellence and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience relevant to Aquatic Centre operations (highly desirable)
  • Current Swimming Pool Plant Operator Certificate
  • Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
  • Current Senior First Aid and CPR
  • Current Blue Card, or ability to obtain
