About Basketball NSW

Basketball NSW is the peak body responsible for the governance, development and promotion of basketball across New South Wales. We serve as a member of Basketball Australia (BA Limited) and are recognised by BA as the sole state sporting organisation for basketball in NSW.

Our mission spans grassroots participation through to elite pathway programs, community and youth development, competition management, and the broader growth of basketball in our state. The Basketball NSW Board provides strategic leadership and governance oversight across these functions.

About the Positions

New South Wales Basketball Association Limited (Basketball NSW) invites suitably qualified individuals to nominate for election as an Elected Director at the 2026 Annual General Meeting, there are 2 positions available.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about the future of basketball in New South Wales and who want to contribute to the governance, leadership and continued growth of our sport.

All nominations will be assessed by the Nominations Committee against the Board Skills Matrix, with particular focus on two high-priority skill areas identified in the Call for Nominations:

Priority for 2026: The Board is strongly encouraging nominations from individuals with demonstrated basketball expertise (playing, coaching, refereeing or administration experience at representative level or above for 15+ years) and/or senior government relations experience. These are identified as High Priorities.

The term of office: Three (3) years from conclusion of 23 May 2026 AGM 

These are voluntary positions.
