Reporting to the GM of Operations, the Head of Competitions & Events is primarily responsible for overseeing the VSBL competition and memberships, providing managerial support and guidance to clubs and office staff. The role requires a willingness to establish and maintain strong lines of communication with clubs and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Membership
Annual registration, clearances, update players and club details on GameDay, build tournament and season registration forms, capitation to clubs and assist with all club queries
VSBL
Coordination of VSBL competition and fixturing
Administration of GameDay results, fixtures and ladders
Assist with the assessment of player and coach eligibility matters
Coordinate finals series, including venues, fixtures, and medals/pennants and equipment
Ensure all competition rules are adhered to and effectively maintained through frequent communications with clubs
Organise and assist with stakeholder meetings including tribunals, club hub meetings, working groups and committees
Winter Associations
Support Winter Associations with administrative matters as required
Work collaboratively with Winter Associations to identify key opportunities for sustainable growth of winter baseball
Tournaments
Assist with representative team requirements
Support Events Officer with tournaments as required, including but not limited to, communications, fixtures and personnel coordination
Events
Coordinate events such as the Annual General Meeting and awards events
Oversee delivery of events such as Little League and State Winter Championships
Office Support
Administrative support including but not limited to taking meeting minutes, data and file management and other duties required

Selection Criteria
Qualification and Experience
Relevant Tertiary qualification or suitable work experience
Experience in using GameDay or similar competition management system
Current Drivers License
Working With Children Check
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent and tactful communication skills, time management and organisational skills, and ability to manage/prioritise tasks and resolve conflicts
Demonstrated capacity in the use of technology, including database management, websites, and Microsoft Office Suite
Well-developed planning/program management skills with a high degree of attention to detail
Knowledge of sporting culture and issues faced by sporting organisations at community level is an advantage, including an understanding of the constraints of the volunteer workforce (baseball specific is preferential)
An understanding of the nuanced nature of participation level sport and the desire to foster an equitable, enjoyable and sustainable competition environment
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Relationship building and stakeholder management skills
