About the Position:
Reporting to the Head of Finance / Senior Accountant, the Assistant Accountant plays a vital role in the administration and execution of day-to-day accounting tasks which includes accounts payable/receivable, banking, reconciliations, month/year end processes, account transaction postings, match official payroll administration and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts payable – invoice entry and payable.
- Accounts receivable – invoice entry and follow up.
- Banking payments and reconciliations.
- Accounting transaction positing and general journals as required.
- Reporting and special projects as required.
- Accounts and compliance for other NSWRL associated entities as required.
- Key involvement in month and year end processes.
- Administration of NSWRL match official payroll as required.
- Month end reconciliations and working papers as required.
- Other financial and accounting duties as reasonably requested and required.
About You:
The successful candidate will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Finance / Accounting.
- Sound knowledge of accounting, taxation and payroll principles with relevant experience.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Proficient knowledge of accountancy systems.
- Previous experience and knowledge with payroll processing desirable.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
- Proficient written, verbal and interpersonal skills including building effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- A high level of attention to detail.
Consistent with the nature of the sporting industry, the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work weekends, evenings and reasonable additional hours as is required to fulfil the requirements of this position. Remuneration is set in recognition of this requirement.
