Description

Nestled in Parramatta Park’s lush surrounds, Parramatta Aquatic Centre (the PAC) is a new fitness, wellness and relaxation hub. Featuring three pools including an outdoor Olympic-sized centrepiece and indoor water playground, as well as spa, steam and sauna facilities, fitness centre, and public café, the PAC is a community oasis to accompany Parramatta’s burgeoning CBD district.

We prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. We are committed to implementing child safe practices to create an environment where children feel safe and included. We screen candidates to ensure their suitability to work with children, this includes conducting national police checks, working with children checks, and thorough reference checks.

About the role

This position sits within the Aquatic and Wellness Leadership Team and is responsible for leading the Health and Wellness team within Council’s integrated aquatic and wellness facilities. You will deliver cost effective rostering, budgets, assist with facility bookings and ensure the day-to-day operations of the facilities are compliant with Fitness Australia/AusActive guidelines.

  • As a member of the Aquatics and Wellness leadership team, contribute to the strategic directions of Council and implement the priority services, projects and initiatives
  • Recruit, train, roster, assess and supervise staff 
  • Develop, implement, review and evaluate industry-standard policies and procedures for Council’s health and wellness facilities.
  • Managing daily operations of the health and wellness facilities including day-to-day supervision of the Wellness Supervisors, casuals, contract staff and Group Fitness Instructors.
  • Plan and deliver a broad range of group fitness programs including wet and dry programs.
  • Complete accurately and timely reporting on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis as directed.
  • Administer procurement, requisition and purchasing of goods and services for the facility within Council’s Procurement Guidelines and established budget.

About You 

The successful candidate should have previous experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in the Fitness Industry, and experience leading a team 
  • Tertiary qualification in Exercise Science, Business Administration, or Facility Management
  • Certificate III and IV in fitness
  • Fitness Australia National Registration
  • First Aid including CPR
  • NSW Working with Children Clearance 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience in working in diverse communities

We are offering a permanent full-time opportunity, with an attractive total remuneration from $121,367.67 plus superannuation
