About the Position:

Reporting to the Area Manager in Western NSW, the Far West Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in creating participation growth across the Far Western NSW region through coordinating and delivering junior and social gala days and competitions.

The preferred location for the position is Broken Hill, however other locations in Far Western NSW will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, implementing and assisting with junior gala days, competitions, community events and promotional visits hosted at club venues in Far Western NSW.
  • Planning and implementing community family tag and non-contact programs.
  • Supporting the smooth running of competitions with a particular focus on game day operations in Far Western NSW.
  • Assisting with the delivery of all relevant Club and League plans particularly junior and volunteer participation ensuring alignment with NSWRL and national strategy.
  • Working collaboratively on Far Western NSW development and representative programs and coaching development programs.
  • Actively supporting volunteer attraction, retention and support delivery of appropriate education for club and league volunteers.

About You:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Rugby league coaching and referee accreditation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or work experience.
  • Junior rugby league coaching, first aid, officiating and/or administration experience.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication capability including skills in networking and building effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Current drivers licence and working with children check.
  • Community sports event management expertise.

Consistent with the nature of the sporting industry, the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work weekends, evenings and reasonable additional hours as is required to fulfil the requirements of this position. Remuneration is set in recognition of this requirement.
