About the role

We're now looking for a First Nations Coordinator to lead Tennis West's First Nations projects, initiatives and key relationships, along with liaison with Tennis Australia Inclusion and Diversity department. As First Nations Coordinator, you will be responsible for driving and delivering initiatives that support First Nations across the state.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and deliver Tennis West's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
  • Coordinate the State Boorloo Tennis Carnival and supporting lead in events across WA
  • Represent Western Australia at the National Indigenous Tennis Carnival in Darwin, NT
  • Build strong partnerships with First Nations organisations to grow participation and community connection
  • Support the planning and delivery of broader diversity, inclusion, and equity initiatives across Tennis West, providing event and administrative support
  • Network with other First Nations people within Tennis Australia and state bodies, building connections and sharing knowledge across the sector

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with the ability to communicate respectfully and effectively within First Nations communities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of tennis or the broader sporting landscape is desirable
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
  • Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis West
