Description

At Tennis NSW, we're creating a more playful world through tennis - for everyone. From grassroots to Grand Slams, tennis brings people together, inspires communities, and builds champions on and off the court.

We're a team of imaginative and passionate people who believe in the power of sport to make a difference. If you're ready to help us serve up real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

Tennis NSW is now seeking a Communications & Local Engagement Lead to play a key role in connecting our brand with the wider tennis community across the state.

In this role, you'll take the lead on day-to-day communications for Tennis NSW - from managing our website and developing engaging digital and print assets, to supporting member clubs and venues with tailored content and collateral.

You'll also help shape and deliver our annual communications plan, bringing creative ideas and local insight to drive engagement across NSW and enhance awareness of Tennis NSW programs and events.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the delivery of communications and marketing initiatives that grow the visibility and engagement of tennis across NSW.
  • Manage digital communications channels - including eDMs, website content, and social updates - ensuring consistent, engaging, and on-brand messaging.
  • Partner with internal teams, clubs, and venues to create localised campaigns that connect with diverse audiences and strengthen community participation.
  • Drive media and public relations opportunities, while developing creative assets and collateral in collaboration with agencies and through the Tennis Design Hub.
  • Support major Tennis NSW events - such as the United Cup, NSW Open, and Awards Night - through tailored communications strategies and promotional campaigns

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, or a related field, with proven experience delivering creative, multi-channel campaigns.
  • Strong storytelling, copywriting, and editing skills - able to craft clear, engaging content across digital, print, and community platforms.
  • Proficiency with digital and design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and Meta Business Suite.
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A proactive, energetic attitude and genuine passion for sport, events, and community engagement - comfortable working flexibly around key tournaments and events.
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.

What's to love?

  • Career development with a range of formal education and on the job training opportunities
  • Monthly wellbeing activities and recognition through our Serving Your Success program
  • Salary packaging & a range of discounts from our sponsorship partners
