Brimbank is continuously growing, with many transformational infrastructure projects about to break ground. A key focus of the coming years will be working with the State and Federal Governments to establish Melbourne Airport Rail; to complete redevelopment of Sunshine and Albion Stations; and the realisation of the Sunshine Precinct Masterplan which will Sunshine transformed into a CBD, vastly increasing local jobs, housing, businesses, services and tourism to provide for the many tens of thousands of people living, working and travelling through the Brimbank.

We are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent staff member to join our team based at our leisure centres
Reporting to the Facility Operations Unit Manager, we are seeking Risk and Compliance Lead who can bring their skills and experience for:
- Ability to work in accordance with our values and behaviours
- Proven ability to manage multiple risk registers and coordinate OH&S committees to ensure occupational health and safety compliance.
- Experience leading investigations into Child Safe and WorkSafe incidents, with knowledge of legislative obligations and best practice reporting procedures.
- Ability to review CCTV footage in line with Council policy to support incident investigations and emergency responses.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to engage staff, contractors and visitors on safety matters.
- Experience coordinating safety and compliance training across multiple facilities.
- Demonstrated experience in reviewing incidents, identifying potential risks, and taking appropriate follow-up actions to ensure the safety of operations across multiple facilities.
- Ability to assess and manage risk in line with Council’s safety protocols and standards.
- Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), Child Safe regulations.
- Experience coordinating OH&S committees, supporting the development of policies and ensuring compliance across facilities.
- Proven ability to apply child safe frameworks, including conducting CCTV reviews to support incident investigations and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Ability to identify and resolve OH&S issues and ensure safe facility operations.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and reviewing risk assessments, designing safe systems of work and mentoring stakeholders. High attention to detail with the ability to develop and implement OHS policy and procedure documentation
To be considered you will have:
- Relevant degree or Diploma with practical experience or lesser formal qualifications and substantial relevant experience.
- Current driver’s license
- Competency in Microsoft applications and incident reporting applications, such as Elumina and Confirm
- Experience coordinating and engaging with contractors and suppliers.
- Employee Working with Children Check
- First Aid
- CPR
- Local government experience is desirable
- Pool Lifeguard Qualification is desirable
