We are excited to introduce a new leadership opportunity within the Sport Department at MLC - Head of Adventure Sport. This role is ideal for sports administrators and managers who are ready for the next step in their career. The Head of Adventure Sport is responsible for leading and coordinating the College’s new Adventure Sport portfolio which includes existing programs in Kayaking, Equestrian and Snowsports alongside brand new and emerging offerings such as skateboarding, surfing, ninja warrior, sport climbing and more. As part of the Sport Senior Management team, and reporting to the Director of Sport, the role will manage coaching staff, Adventure Sport supervisors and external providers to oversee the delivery of a safe, dynamic and engaging Adventure Sport program for our students.
About the Role
- Lead and coordinate the Adventure Sport portfolio across it’s multiple disciplines.
- Recruit, mentor and manage a team of coaches and providers to deliver the programs.
- Oversee student participation, safety, and wellbeing during training, competitions, and events.
- Develop strong relationships with students, parents, and external stakeholders.
- Manage compliance, risk, equipment, and health and safety requirements.
- Organise events, camps, and competitions while promoting student engagement and growth.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sport to align Adventure Sport processes with College expectations.
About You
You are an energetic and experienced leader with a passion for sport and youth development. You bring:
- Sport Management qualifications or relevant experience in sporting industry
- Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating staff.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills.
- Experience in schools or youth sporting environments.
- Intermediate or above ability in Skiing or Snowboarding
- A strong understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards.
- Current Working with Children Check.
