About the role

Netball SA has an exciting opportunity to lead our High Performance team. Our General Manager High Performance will play a critical role in providing leadership and management of Netball SA’s key elite programs including the Adelaide Thunderbirds, Adelaide Thunderbirds Futures, Elite Pathway, SA state 17U and 19U teams.

A member of the Netball SA Executive, the GM will work closely with a number of direct reports including the High Performance Pathways Manager, Operations Manager, Thunderbird Coaches, Physical Performance Lead, Performance Analyst, Well-Being and Engagement Lead plus a range of other specialist external contractors.

Key Responsibilities

The GM High Performance will:

  • Provide leadership and direction to enhance athlete, coach, program performance and development as well as systems integration.
  • Drive a centralised elite performance program and network, utilising best practice and innovation to maximise the success of the elite performance pathways in South Australia.
  • Build relationships, credibility and strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

You will have significant experience in a similar high-performance role in sport, with a deep understanding of high-performance structures and the dynamics associated with it, at local, national and/or international level.

To be successful you’ll need to have:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in elite sporting environments
  • Knowledge of athlete management systems
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with a complex and diverse group of stakeholders
  • Strong managerial, organisational and strategic planning skills, including an ability to manage financial resources and budgets.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with other areas of the business including marketing and commercial.
