Description

The Australian Sports Commission is embarking on the Green and Gold decade. An exciting time filled with international sporting competitions on home soil, including the Men’s and Women’s Rugby World Cup, and culminating in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We have an ambitious new Strategic Vision and we need the best players on our team to help us deliver real results for the sporting sector and all Australians.

Are you up for the challenge?

Who we are - Performance Services is a specialised multi-disciplinary team of specialists who deliver performance services to support the AIS campus’ based high performance activities that include NSO elite, pre-elite and development and intensive rehabilitation camps.

Services from within the multi-disciplinary team can incorporate a range of elements from Nutrition, Food Services to Strength & Conditioning and Biomechanics. The Performance Services Team works with NSO’s in the planning and delivery of the best possible camp environment that will optimise the performance outcomes NSO’s are wishing to achieve. These outcomes are discussed, developed and customised and then agreed with the NSO prior to confirming a camp schedule to target the outcomes the sport is wanting. Complementary themes can be built into camp plans to enhance specific performance outcomes, including adaptation and environmental support, pre-departure and competition strategies.

What we want - Within Performance Services you will play a key role in the implementation and delivery of performance services in accordance with the branch strategy. In this role as a Sports Dietitian (Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Sports Dietitian), we are looking for an early career practitioner who is eager to learn and develop in a high performance sport environment. You will have the opportunity to implement your developing expertise with a diverse range of athletes across a range of sports as you are mentored by Senior Dietitian's within the team. You will plan, design and deliver nutrition services and projects in collaboration with other Dietitian’s within the Performance Services Team.

What the applicant needs -

  • Tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience in Nutrition and Dietetics, recognised by the Dietitians Association of Australia
  • Registration (or equivalent) as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with the Dietitians Association of Australia and membership of Sports Dietitians Australia (SDA) with status as an Accredited Sports Dietitian.

This position is offered as an ONGOING position.
