Gymnastics Queensland (GQ) is seeking a new Board Director to help shape the future of one of Queensland’s largest and most inclusive sports. With over 58,000 members, 1,700 technical members, and 125+ clubs across the state, gymnastics is a sport that builds strong foundations for life, from Kindergym (under 5s) through to seniors, and from grassroots community participation to elite, high-performance programs. We support and oversee seven (7) official Gymsports.
As a Board Director, you’ll play a key role in strategic leadership and governance, guiding the growth and development of gymnastics across Queensland. This is a volunteer position, but one that offers immense personal and professional rewards. Being a Board Director requires vision, leadership, and commitment, and provides the opportunity to make a lasting impact on our community.
We are particularly seeking candidates with skills and experience in:
Government Relations & Advocacy - building strong relationships with government to represent and advance the interests of the sport, secure support for programs, facilities and funding, and drive positive change.
The Board meets six times a year (online weekday evenings), with additional sub-committee opportunities. Regional and female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply as we strive to ensure diversity of perspectives and leadership on our Board.
