The Role

The Western Suburbs Magpiges NSW Cup Head Coach, plays a key role in developing and preparing players for NRL readiness while leading the Western Suburbs Magpies NSW Cup squad to success. Working closely with the NRL Head Coach and High Performance staff, the role is responsible for delivering high-quality training, game-day leadership, and player development programs. This is a part-time position, commencing in October 2025, that requires a strong leader who can balance performance outcomes with fostering a professional, disciplined, and values-driven team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective game plans and strategies. 
  • Lead all NSW Cup training sessions and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Provide individual coaching, feedback, and development pathways for players. 
  • Manage team selection in line with club policies and fairness. 
  • Lead game-day coaching, including real-time tactical adjustments. 
  • Analyse match data and video to review performance and identify improvements. 
  • Conduct end-of-season reviews to guide player progress towards NRL readiness. 
  • Collaborate with High Performance staff and coaching team on programs and planning. 
  • Communicate effectively with players, staff, and stakeholders to ensure alignment. 
  • Uphold Wests Tigers’ values by maintaining discipline, professionalism, and compliance.
